Okean train

Train 005/006 Okean (translated as Ocean) travels on the Khabarovsk to Vladivostok route and is considered to be the best train in the Far East region of Russia. It made its first run in 1982.  In 2009, VIP carriages were added to the train. The train is designed and painted in white, dark blue and light blue colors with dolphins to represent the Pacific Ocean. It is a daily train, taking 11 hours to complete its journey.

The train has VIP 1st, Regular 1st class, 2nd class and 3rd class compartments, all with air-conditioning and vacuum toilets.  The VIP first-class cabin is a two-room cabin for two persons.  The lower berth is 120 cm wide and the upper berth is 90 cm wide. Each cabin has a private toilet with a shower and a washbasin, a TV, VHS and CD/DVD players, air conditioning and 220V socket. Travelers are provided with personal hygiene kits and magazines.

Regular first-class cabins have two lower sleeping berths. The cabin includes a TV and travelers are provided with personal hygiene kits.  Second-class cabins have two lower and two upper sleeping berths. Third-class is an open car with sleeping berths in two levels, without any closed cabins. Bed inen is included in the prices of all tickets. There is a compartment for disabled people on this train and a cabin for hand luggage.  The restaurant has an original menu which features local dishes, which can be served in the traveler´s compartment or in the restaurant car.
