The stereotype that there are bears on the streats in Russia is usually not true, but for now, until August 5th, 143 bear sculptures decorated to represent different countris is on display in Alexandrovsky Garden just outside of the Admiralty building and across from the beginning of Gorokovaya Street.

The United Buddy Bears is a world-touring exhibition to promote living together in peach and harmony, which is marking it's 25th exhibition and 10th anniverary in St. Petersburg.

The exhibit is outdoors and free to the public.

Each of the 143 bears represent a member state of the United Nations. Artists from all over the world came together to create the bears in the image of their culture and country.

The bears represent a world of mixed cultures all living together in peace and harmany and are placed in circles as if they are all holding hands.

In addition to the member states of the United Nations, there are additional bears representing ideas needed for people to live together peacefully. Such as the gold bear, with the golden rule depicted.

The exhibition is quite intersting and very enjoyable. Find your favorite bear or your home country and take a picture.

The next stop for the bears will be Paris, where they will surround the Eiffel Tower.
